April Tbr

a46131ce9ceb4f087f8d89416d317a45Spring is finally here and every store has become a ray of pastel colours, fluffy bunnies and chocolate eggs. April is coming which means it is time for another tbr. For the most part of April I am going to be focusing on Camp NaNoWriMo so I have a rather small tbr of 4 books.

9d92a07796954a1d6f22e4c974711613The first book coming in at 742 pages is The Rise And Fall Of D.O.D.O. by Neal Stephenson & Nicole Galland. You just know if your organuization is an acronym for an extinct bird that it won’t end well. I am extremely excited to get my hands on this. It follows Mel Stoke, a linguistics & language lecturer for Harvard University, who recounts the story of how she got trapped in the past after translating some old papers that prove magic existed until 1851 (coincidently the time she is stuck in). What really sold me was that the story is told through journal entries, letters, slide shows, & audio files. I enjoyed the formating of The Illuminae Files & Themis Files, and both ended up being 5 Stars so I having a feeling I am going to love this stand alone.

The next book on my April tbr is The Story of King Arthur & His Knights by Howard Pyle. I haven’t read a classic since February so I want to get back to reading a classic per month again. I choose The Story of King Arthur & His Knights because it reads more like a collection of short stories so I should breeze through this one.

63e322321e92c2b14d6a50cf1a53b36cThe third book I want to read is Stain by A.G.Howard. This is one of my 2019 most anticipated releases. I know it came out in January but I haven’t been in the mood for it until recently. This one is a high fantasy where night and day are separated which causes problems for the two Kingdoms. A lost princess must rediscover her past and win the Prince in order to restore balance. It is also loosely inspired by The Princess and the Pea and I haven’t read any retellings based off that fairytale, but if anyone can do it justice it would be Howard.

The last book I am planning to get to is Angels & Demons by Dan Brown. This is the prequel to the much beloved Da Vinci Code and as I enjoy reading things in chronological order I figured I would start with this one in the series. My copy is 710 pages long but it has a large font and I have been in the mood for an Indiana Jones adventure mystery with codes and symbols.

And that is what I hope to get to in April. I am also doing another 24 Hour-Readathon on the 21st for Easter, which will help me finish the longer books  on my tbr before the end of the month. Again Camp NaNoWriMo comes first so it is going to be a slow reading month.
